Vivio Extra Virgin Coconut oil
Refined coconut oil is made from mechanically processed coconut flesh using high temperatures. Thanks to heat treatment, refined coconut oil does not have the characteristic coconut flavor and does not affect the taste of dishes prepared with it. It is solid and white in color up to approximately 26 ° C. Below 26 ° C it becomes a semi-liquid.
It is resistant to high temperatures, making it ideal for frying.
93% of the oil composition consists of saturated fatty acids (lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, caprylic and capric acids). Unlike animal fats, they are medium-chain saturated fats that are converted directly into energy by the body rather than being stored as fat stores or deposits. The remaining 7% are unsaturated fatty acids (Omega-9 oleic and Omega-6 linoleic). It is these ingredients that make the oil so valuable. Lauric acid, which is the main component of the oil (50%), has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.
